Dear colleagues,
During the last years the European Commission and the Competent Authorities of the Member States have organized numerous events on the implementation of “Seveso” 96/82/EC Directive (on the control of major accident hazards involving dangerous substances) such as the “Seveso” Conferences in Athens (1999) and in London (2000).
Related to these events and in the context of an EU funded CRAFT project for SME's, the National Technical University of Athens, the Major Accident Hazards Bureau (MAHB) of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre and the Industrial Safety Department of TNO with the collaboration of the European Process Safety Centre and the Technical University of Crete, are now organizing an Internet Conference “MICRORISK 2001-Safety Management Systems in Industries handling dangerous substances: future challenges” June 27 - July 11, 2001.
We have listed some of the features of the Internet Conference below:
Easy submission of the abstracts (text in English).
Any number of supplementary information (related e.g. to the subject of the article or the services and products of the body the authors belong) may also be uploaded alongside the article;
Each article becomes the subject of discussion where you can interactively discuss the contents with others; and
There will be comprehensive browsing/searching facilities available to help you find subjects of interest to you.
The safety of our small and medium sized companies is extremely important for the process industry in general and we look forward to your participation in the conference. The coordinator Dr. G. A. Papadakis (tel.& fax: +30 821 37316, email: gpap@dpem.tuc.gr) or the Conference Secretariat will be pleased to answer any of your queries.
Yours Sincerely,
Dr. J. S. Duffield
