Exposure effects | Repeated or prolonged exposure may cause weight loss, low blood pressure, jaundice, reduced urinary output, dermatitis, eye damage and anemia. Dichloroethane is a suspected human carcinogen based on animal data. |
Ingestion | Causes irritation to the gastrointestinal tract. Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Toxic effects parallel those of inhalation. Doses of 0.5 - 1.0 g/kg can be fatal. |
